Kind

A couple weeks ago I was at costco with Kapri and Brittlee. I was just leaving and a lady stopped me and told me I was a good mom and that my kids were lucky to have me... I looked at her kind of shocked. Do I know you, I asked? She said a few days earlier she had stood behind me in the return line (at Costco, yes I go there a lot) the line was rather long so I was singing some songs (quietly:) and playing with my girls I remembered seeing that lady behind me that day. Then she stopped me a few days later and told me that she thought I was a good mom... She proceeded to ask me if I homeschooled and I said no, she said I'd be good at it and said my kids are getting a great start and that she could just tell by the way I interacted with them. I know it was just a few comments but it meant a lot to me that she would say those kind things, even days later, I was shocked really. Most of the comments I get are a little rude or indifferent but not often do I get kind ones, it's nice to see someone appreciating me for being a mother. . .

Pinewood Derby

This was an exciting night Kyle was looking forward to for a while when the day finally arrived he was so excited. He and Joe worked so hard on his car. They had lots of fun doing it and I must say the hard work paid off because he came in 1st. This is actuall his second year in a row coming in 1st. Last year I was in the hospital with Kayelee, I made it to the derby but I don't think I ever posted about it. One of his very close friends Barrett came in with a very close 2nd. The boys had tons of fun.
I have been very proud of Kyle he is a very good Cub Scout. There is a boy down our street who likes to come to Cubs. Kyle has been inviting him and he has been coming. Joe and Kyle even helped him a bunch on his pinewood derby car. It has been a really good experience for Kyle. He is a really good friend and cares about other people. Getting 1st is so fun but there are so many more important things than 1st and he cares about those things too.
