Elizabeth Brittlee

Ok I know we CANNOT get this name right:). Yes we did change her name, rather just switched the first and the middle to Elizabeth Brittlee. I am still struggling with it but I do feel right about it. When we were out there in Wyoming both Joe and I just looked at each other and asked why we didn't just name her Elizabeth since it meant so much. We talked about it while were there treking(as we were blessing her that Sunday out there at the trek center at Martin's cove, in the very place I first saw the picture of Elizabeth Horracks Jackson the year before) we still weren't sure and then early Sunday morning Joe went for a walk and while he was walking he stopped to read his scriptures and he was reading in Helaman where Helaman is talking to his sons Nephi and Lehi and tells them to REMEMBER which is the whole theme of the pioneers, he is telling them to remember the good things that Nephi and Lehi had done and that he had named them after good people who had gone before and he was telling them to remember those good things they had done and to be like them. It is a great chapter one I will surely share with her one day, anyway Joe just felt that if her first name was the one with significance it would mean more to her and cause her to remember the great woman she was named after so after that we felt it was right so we changed it to Elizabeth Brittlee.

It has taken some getting used to and we still call her Brittlee and Lizzie and Lizzie Brittlee Lou and Elizabeth, I figure she'll have a few names for quite a while and we will call her both, I love the name Brittlee too so she will just be lucky to have 2 beautiful names.

Joe blessed her and she recieved a beautiful blessing it was so neat to have it done right there where I first saw the picture of Elizabeth Horracks Jackson.

Her name has meant a lot to us as you can see and hopefully we got it right this time:)

I love this girl.
This is the picture in the trek center that I first saw of Elizabeth Horracks Jackson.
My Mom and I dressing Brittlee She wore the blessing dress I was blessed in. It was sweet as we were dressing her my Mom said "I dressed another sweet little girl in that dress years ago" it was a sweet moment dressing her in the dress my Mom dressed me in when I was just her size. Hopefully she can pass it down to one of her little girls.

She's so beautiful! It was fun to meet this little angel in person last week. I love that you switched the names! She will love having such a neat story behind her first name. I also loved getting to see you and Joe at the reunion and your entire family! It needs to happen more often for sure. Love you guys!

How special that she wore the same dress you wore for your blessing! Did your other girls wear that dress too? Well as you know I love her name! I like it either way, but it is more meaningful for it to be Elizabeth Brittlee.

LOVE both names and especially LOVE that little girl! What an incredibly special name and story to go with it, too. And that dress! It's beautiful, Deb! I didn't realize she was getting blessed in your dress. Everything about that day sounds so perfect and memorable.
